1975-

First year of the IMSA AAGT's, and the Monza. The Monza's proved to be lighting-quick, but not very reliable. By years end, most of the bugs were worked out and the Monza was becoming a real threat. The Chevrolet Monza would win the first ever IMSA AAGT manufactures title. The future was looking very brite for the Monza!

1976-

The powerful Monza's of the AAGT(classified as GTO) were starting to take over IMSA, and by Road Atlanta would dominate the 1976 IMSA season. Monza's would record 10 victories by years end, with Al Holbert taking the drivers championship, and recording the Monza's first win. The Chevrolet Monza would capture it's second straight AAGT title.

1977-

Porsche was preasuring IMSA for more turbo boost, but Monza's were still ruling the IMSA races. Wild "banana" wings and long-scooped front ends were now allowed. Monza's would record four victories. Holbert would take his second straight drivers title, and the Chevrolet Monza would take it's third straight IMSA AAGT Manufactures Title. Sadly, this would be the final year that an H07 would record an IMSA GT victory. Al Holbert's Pocono victory would the final one. The Monza's greatest driver would record it's first and last IMSA victory, and it's only two drivers titles (1976 & '77).

1978-

IMSA was now giving the Porsche's more boost while adding more weight to the AAGT cars. Monza's were no longer the front runners. Monza drivers would propose transaxles and aluminum Big-Block engines for their cars, but IMSA would say no. DeKon built #1018 for Al Holbert with the aformentioned mods, but it never raced. Al was forced to go to Porsche-power to remain competitive, and the Monza lost it's only chance at a third IMSA Title. Chris Cord would record a fine 5th at Laguna Seca, the Monza's best finish for 1978. Roy Woods would debute his twin-turbo(!) monza at Portland. Chevrolet would take It's fourth straight IMSA AAGT Manufactures Title.

For 1978, the AAGT cars were grouped as GTX cars.

1979-

With twin-turbo Porsche 935's ruling IMSA, H07's were seeing some tough times ahead. Unfair weight penalties would make the AAGT's uncompetitive. Keith Feldott would record a fine 7th in GTO at Brainerd. Chevrolet would take it's fifth straight IMSA AAGT Manufactures Title.

An increase in H07 entries was a welcomed site for 1986. High point of the year was at Miami with two Monza's and Two(!) Skyhawks defending the marque. Monza driver John Hayes-Harlow would record a fine 10th at Miami and 11th's at Charlotte and West Palm Beach.

1987-

Their racecars outdated, H07 racers still show that "Go For IT!" spirit that once made them the terror of the IMSA AAGT. It was good to see two of the H07 racers in 1987.
